4.0 out of 5 stars Rival Crock Pot,This Rival Crock is very good. I had the smart crock pot last and it just overcooked everything I made. I was beginning to think I just couldn’t use a crock pot anymore. This one does exactly what it’s supposed to do. Makes dinner delicious and easy. I usually leave the crockpot on from 6:30 am to 5:00 pm and everything comes out perfect. I’ve used this crock pot more in the last 2 months than I used the other one in over a year..

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Pressure cooker , crappy lid!,I love this Rival Crock. I now have, however, a lid without a handle. The plastic handle is just a bad design, period. Its not snug enough that funk won’t get underneath it if you soak it, so it traps gunk in there. There is no way to tighten it when it starts to loosen. Eventually mine came off in my hand. I will still use the lid with a pliers because I like the crockpot itself. Whatever happened to the design where the lid and the handle were all one piece of glass? Bring that back!

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Programmable Crock Pot

We both work, 8, 12, 24 hour shifts, so the cooker slow is a must-have in our household. There are tons of recipes online. It is easy to clean, looks pretty on display if you keep it clean. Is convenient for parties. It came with a Little Dipper, that is perfect for Queso, Fondue, melted choclate, and even 2 servings of diced sweet potatoes (which I find very hard to cook any other way). It brings out the best in any cut of meat. You can fill it the night before, and we use it with a timer for when we don’t want it to start cooking the minute we leave, if we are going to be gone for 12 hours.

4.0 out of 5 stars What I had expected,

his made the fifth and final slow cooked I purchased. It should have been the first one. The other cooker slow I purchased were either too big (7 quart) or too small (2 quart). This rival crock six quart is just the right size. The 7 quarts never did seen to heat up like they should and other reviews that I read here did say just that. I should have payed better attention to other peoples reviews instead of trying other cheaper brands first. They all said to stick with a Rival. So don’t make the mistake I did, make this one your first choice because it begins to become a hasstle after a while to keep returning and re-odering if your not satisfied.

5.0 out of 5 stars Big, beautiful, and cooks to perfection.,

I’ve never owned a slow cooker and was a bit concerned after reading that rival crock received significantly lower ratings than other brands of slow cookers. This one works like a charm. I was also concerned because I read that older models of Programmable Crock Pot cooked more slowly on low, and that some newer cooker slow cooked at a heat that was too high.

Not to worry. On low, it’s exactly that. Perfect and slow and will cook roasts to perfection in 8-10 hours. On high, it works perfectly too. It’s a lovely looking black ceramic stoneware insert too. I’m on my way to being a crock pot fanatic. I am a brand new fan.

No more excuses to buy pre-washed salad greens5.0 out of 5 stars

I’ve avoided making salads for a long time because of the preparation time. I had an older salad spinner, but it was the kind you had to turn, and cleaning it afterwards always seemed to take a long time. This crock pot is a huge improvement over any I’ve used before.

You put the rinsed greens in the strainer, or rinse them after they’re in, and then put the strainer in the bowl. One easy push and it spins on its own and it does not move around at all on the counter. I have found that it takes a couple spins to dry them the way I like, but while the greens are spinning, you can be chopping up other salad ingredients.

Even better, you can lock the handle in the “down” position and use this spinner to store the unused greens in the fridge; no separate “lettuce saver” is needed. I’ve had leaf lettuce in mine for several days, and it is still crisp and fresh. Since buying this remarkable spinner, I’ve had salad every night. And enjoyed every minute of it, preparation included!

If you love salads but hate the prep, get this. You will wonder how you ever got along without it.

A Leafy Lettuce Lover,5.0 out of 5 stars

I was introduced to OXO tools by my sister when she gave me one of their peelers. She swore that it would make me search for things to peel because it was such a pleasure to use. She was absolutely right! Since then I have become an avid OXO devotee and own many of their products. But the VERY BEST of them all is the Good Grips Salad Spinner. I adore leafy lettuce but always found washing it to be such a chore that on some days I would just skip the salad routine altogether. I had used several styles of lettuce spinners during the past 20 years, but none were even in the same league as the OXO Salad Spinner. Believe it or not — I actually enjoy washing greens with this device and use it every day. Using the best tool available makes any task more satisfying, and this is the creme de la creme of salad spinners. Have no doubt, this is a purchase you will be glad you made each time you use it. And you will want to use it! I’ve found that washing the lettuce and draining the excess water from the bowl, then refrigerating the lettuce in the spinner before spinning yields crispy greens. A good thing to do early in the day, then just a quick spin later for a fast salad. I, as another reviewer wrote, also give this cooker slow frequently as a gift and it is always a hit.

The Power of Amazon Reviews.….,5.0 out of 5 stars

First, I was a pressure cooker nut from before. I used my mother’s 1930/40’s Presto’s until I couldn’t get seals for them. When I saw this Programmable Crock Pot I bought it instantly. I loved it so much that I gave one to my daughter, my sis and my sis-in-law, (we’re all foodies). I was cooking stuff I hadn’t made in years. We ate like kings! All of a sudden, caput. I get online and search and right there on Amazon, Bobby Mac “Micronaut101″ describes my very own problem! So no more trying to make the bloody thing work! I call the Cuisinart 800 number prepared to go the distance according to the reviews I’ve read and I describe my problem, how much I love the cooker Slow, how I’ve seen the problem reported on Amazon and therefore it’s a known quality issue and I want a new machine. OK, she says, what’s your address? No “did you send in a warranty” or anything else. Bingo, 7 - 10 days I’ll have a new pressure cooker. How cool is that? Oh, and “We’re sorry for the inconvenience. Have a great day.” Yehaa! Let’s hear it for Amazon and reviews!
And I’m writing this so that others who may get one of those recalcitrant pressure cookers that slipped through the quality assurance check can know that they will get a new pressure cooker with the press of the number buttons. Cuisinart CPC-600 has decided to stand behind this one product, at least.

BTW, all of us are previous users of pressure cookers so we really appreciated the ability to sear the meat in the cooker. My family has used the Cuisinart cookbook for the pasta e Fagioli, Cuban Black Bean Soup, Chicken with Herb Dumplings and the “outstanding” Creamy Rice Pudding” And, in fact, the Rice pudding cooked so quickly that my sis didn’t think it was done when the timer went off and over cooked it! Her second batch was superb. We also like Lorna Sass’s “Cooking Under Pressure” and “Pressure Perfect”

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Cooker Slow!,

This is a wonderful Programmable Crock Pot! I had never used a pressure cooker before because I had heard stories of them “blowing up” but this electric cooker slow is completely safe. It’s appearance is high tech but it is super easy to use. You just set the temperature and time controls and let it do the work! The nonstick surface makes cleanup a breeze. Another reviewer gave this Cuisinart CPC-600 two stars because the instruction and recipe booklet wasn’t what he expected. You can find cooking time/liquid amount charts on a number of web sites as well as in pressure cooking recipe books.

My motto is, “Don’t judge a book by it’s cover or a pressure cooker by it’s recipe booklet” :)) You will love it!

Best quart pressure cooker Around, 5.0 out of 5 stars

I have used this canner ever since I learned to can and there is NO equal to it. When people say they lose the seal and it unseats improperly they are not closing the lid as instructed. It must be closed at alternating lugnuts and not tight to start that is tightened after you seat them first. If the instructions are followed and COMMON SENSE is used this canner cannot be leaking. also it does require simple care as good cleaning after use and oiling the screws occassionly to keep it from rusting I use WD 40 and it is quick and easy. It is basic common sense and care and this quart pressure canner will last forever and is foulproof. I LOVE IT!

Very pleased with the All American Pressure Canner,5.0 out of 5 stars

I spent a lot of time Pressure cooker reviews before I bought the model 815.
We’ve used it three times already and are extremely pleased with it.
We we’re a bit concerned about a unit with no rubber seal, but after the first use (very slight steam leakage which was predicted in the directions), it has sealed completely on each use. The directions are very clear and accurate. The only down side is that when it is ready to be drained it is a bit heavy for my wife to handle. But it’s weight, in my opinion, is also an indication of the quality of the cooker slow. I would strongly recommend this quart pressure canner.

Amazing Quality5.0 out of 5 stars

This pressure cooker looks very impressive and appears to be built very well. I have not yet used it and this is my first pressure cooker but all seems well with the product. It is without question a HEAVY DUTY pressure cooker and judging by the instructions it is simple to use. The cooker slow also comes with a canning rack/plate that is made of alluminum. I am planning on using this cooker for the culturing of brewing yeasts. This cooker slow has exceeded my expectations so far and judging on that I would highly reccomend this pressure cooker.

    Product Cooker Slow Description

It performs like a charm5.0 out of 5 stars

Let me begin by saying that I have not had a single problem with this Programmable Crock Pot
I originally received it as a Christmas present for Christmas 2007. After the giver gave it to me, she told me she had read the bad reviews and had offered to return it for a different model. I figured I would give it a go. With this, she also gave me the wonderful cookbook named “Not Your Mother’s Slow Cooker Cookbook” (reviewed elsewhere).

I initially tried this Pressure cooker around the first week of February and it performed perfectly. Since that time, I use it at least twice a month and, over the summer, made barbeque ribs in it twice. No cracking or lid problems to report.

A few minor things however: I don’t know if it is because of its size or output, but the Cooker Slow tend to cook in it a bit faster than many recipes call for. However, this is not a huge problem. When it completes cooking, it automatically goes over to a “Warm” mode to keep everything hot. Also, I just cook everything with the Low setting.

Also, because of size, it is sometimes a bit awkward to clean the porcelain cooking bowl. However, nothing sticks to it and it cleans up quite quickly.

I especially like how the cord tucks in for easy storage.

As a serious cooking hobbyist, I like this Programmable Crock Pot more and more with each use. I make everything in it from Beef Stew, to Ribs, to Corned Beef and it performs as advertised.

excellent cooker slow ,5.0 out of 5 stars

My less than 2yo rival slow cooker died, so I started shopping and this KitchenAid KSC700SS had so many great features. I love the large capacity for family meals. For its first test run I made the Chipolte Chicken Drummettes recipe that came with the Programmable Crock Pot . They were excellent; we especially liked the countdown timer for when the kids were asking how long until dinner!
Then Sunday my family decided about 1 in the afternoon they wanted stew for dinner, so I put it to the test loaded it up with veggies thawed, browned added the meat and kicked it on high temp. at 2 pm by 6 it was looking good. Now for the real challenge cooking dumplings on top. Mixed my dumplings plopped them on left the lid off for the first 10 minutes of cooking plopped the lid on for 10 more minutes of cooking and they were done! This is the first Programmable Crock Pot I’ve ever owned that could actually cook the dumplings in just 20 minutes (my rival took an hour and still parts were doughy) Stew was excelent evenly cooked, and on high temp no burned spots.

Ceramic Cooker Slow is easy to clean- seal on lid easy to remove and wash plus the seal kept steam from condensing on cupboard above cooker too.
As to the weight of the Programmable Crock Pot, yes, it is heavy but it is the ceramic pot adding most of the weight any ceramic crock or bowl of 7 quart size is going to be heavy.

Great Cooker Slow,5.0 out of 5 stars

After my old Rival Pressure cooker stopped working, i decided to get one that didn’t boil or run so hot. And I wanted a bigger one.

The KitchenAid KSC700SS one cost more (take 25 off with Amazon) but I like that it has a simmer setting that is great for soups.

Pluses: Huge. The lid seals to the pan so no steam escapes. Digital timer. Looks nice. Programmable Crock Pot timer. Cool on outside. Maintains proper temperature.

I’ve cooked twice with it and the results were excellent.

The prior reviewer commented it was too heavy to take to potluck with her. Well..yeah. Get something smaller for that. It’s absurd to rank this Pressure cooker based on that.
