Functional & Attractive
The le creuset utensil crock is not only functional,but a highly attractive addition to my kitchen. I purchased the stoneware crock holder after reading how sturdy it was and how many utensils it could hold,thereby freeing up drawer space.
We remodeled our kitchen over a year ago,and I had been selecting chrome and stainless steel objects to complete the modern look.However,there was something lacking in the room. I needed a spash of color to bring out the other colors in the granite countertops. I found it with the creuset pot.It is extremely pleasing to the eye.The bottom is tinted dark and gradually bursts into a striking red.It throws color into the corner I placed it in,drawing your eye to the new granite couters and also,the under cupboard lighting. One carefully chosen object, can change the whole look of a kitchen. I am so pleased with my purchase.

Great for sailers and truck drives! Stops global warming!
This is great crock pots and slow cookers! I use it on my catamaran. Not need to watch, just set back and relax. It uses solar (requires solar panel) so it doesn’t waste fuel. Isn’t life great? I wish I had this while I was truck driving. I’m glad they have finally put mini crock pot IN OUR CARS! It’s about time that people start thinking outside the box.
What world should be coming to
The crock cooking is of great use to us. We live full time in our RV and can use the power of the sun instead of electric or LP or generator. How nice to have a little freedom from being chained to the system. Great for truckers. Ah fresh BBQ chicken or pork with just the cost of the pot and the food. Not a foolish crockpots at all.

Not all Programmable Crock Pot are created equal, I guess,
Set the time and temperature, and the Rival Cooker, rival stainless steel does the rest. This programmable slow cooker features an attractive removable stoneware insert that goes fromc ountertop, It is understandable that some of the reviewers are upset with their Rival Crock-Pots, and I wouldn’t have a way of knowing if their claims are true or false. Unfortunately, this thread of reviews seems to lump together all sorts of different Rival 5 qt pot models, with differing sizes and features. My review is for model number 5855C. I have used it and I have absolutely no problems with it. It has not “cracked”; it does not boil the food. To be honest, it does exactly what I would expect from a Crock-Pot: It cooks efficiently, with the added benefit of having a programmable digital timer. I did not pay upwards of 100 bucks for this, either. I found it, brand-new, in the box, at Tuesday Morning for $25. One thing to consider is that larger Crock-Pots are meant to be used when cooking larger meals. Makes sense, right?
Handy Features,
We have cooked with this twice now and it has proven itself worth of purchasing. The 5 qt rival timer with the automatic feature is great because my wife and I both work and it doesn’t overcook before we get home but automatically goes to warm when the preset cook time has run out. I actually ate BBQ out of it last night (Pretty Tasty). The rival cooker shape is convenient for roasts as well. We have a limited time with the rival crockpot but have been very pleased thus far.

Still doing well after more than three years,A oster steamer in one convenient package! This useful rice steamers not only cooks up to 10 cup rice cooker, it also includes a steaming tray to cook vegetables or dumplings for a complete meal prepared in a single unit. One-year warranty. This rice cooker steamer has no fancy feature but it has worked well for us. We bought ours from Macy over three years ago. The non-stick coating is beginning to wear thin. But that is not surprising since we use it every single day. We use the measuring cup that comes with it to measure the rice (good quality Chinese, Japanese, or Korean rice, no Uncle Ben) and put in water according to the marking in the pot. We get good rice every time. It is true that if we leave it at “warm” for a while, a thick hard crust would form at the bottom. But for us, we usually unplug it as soon as it finishes cooking so this rarely happens. When it does, we would take whatever above it and pour in half a cup of water. The crust comes off easily after 15 minutes or so and it is still pretty good for eating.

Best thing next to the fuzzy-logic units,
Plump, tender and moist grains of rice, with the option of colorful steamed veggies, can be yours with this pressure cooker. I love my rice cookers. I use them not only to make rice, but for all sorts of one-pot meals. Put in a cup of rice, vegetables, meats or seafood, seasonings, tofu… and a half hour later you have a steaming hot one-pot meal. They’re also good for pilafs and other grain dishes.
The zojirushi rice cooker and Panasonic units are all first rate, BUT you need to know a little something about cooking rice beyond what’s in the poorly worded manuals.
Different rice takes different amounts of water. The long-grained rice Americans are used to should be cooked with 1-3/4 cup of water for each cup of rice. Japanese rice needs only 1-1/4 cup of water for each cup of rice, or 1 cup of water for each cup of washed, wet, rice.
Many Americans (and Europeans) have problems with these steamer food because the measure ments are calibrated for Japanese short grain rice, and the Westerners are cooking long grain rice. Get the ratios correct, and everything works out fine.
I’ve had a number of rice cookers of different sizes. My panasonic rice cooker has lasted over 20 years, and my Zojirushi looks like it’ll last just as long, while my South Bend gave up the ghost after only a year. Go with the top Japanese models; they’re made for day-in and day out cooking.
