Customer Cooker Slow Reviews
Works Good for Me,
I got this
round oval crock at Costco from the beginning it has been fantastic. I believe there would be issues with people not using the right amount of food in this
crockpot, since it is so big…the smaller amount of food will cook faster and may burn, like the oatmeal I tried overnight. It just was not filled enough.
I do not use 6 quart crock while I am away during the day, because I am just nervous about malfunctioning appliances in general, but I do use it every weekend for roasts, soups, stocks, chili, etc. It makes amazing BBQ ribs - better than my husbands, who has a big outdoor smoker!
I bought the cook book “Not Your Mother’s Crockpot” and love it too…this book is not the “dump a can” kind of cookbook - you need to prep for it, but great recipes. This cookbook also is careful to tell you what size crock to use. Like I said earlier, it pays to read that part, since the recipe said to use a small crockpot slow cooker and I ignored it and used my 6 qt.
I would say the only criticism is that the sides do get hot, so I put it on a large hot plate when I cook with it. I have not had problems with the lid. It is not precision fitting, but steam does not leak out, and it is very quiet. All in all a great product, and I am honestly hooked and thinking about a smaller one for my overnight hot oatmeal.
