    Good pressure cooker. 5
This is nothing fancy, but it works wery well. Replacemenat parts are easy to buy. You can’t open it if it’s under pressure because it has a lock by the handle (safety feature). Actually I think it’s very safe as it has other features as well. I think one of the most important things to look for is what it’s made of (after safety of course!). This is stainless steel which is good because you don’t want aluminum (aluminum will stain and get eaten away with acidic food such as vinegar or lemon juice…).
Another thing to consider is that it takes time to heat up and cool down so even though all pressure cookers say it takes a lot less time to cook, they don’t take the heat-up cool-down time into consideration, even though they are correct about the actual cooking time.

    great value, sturdy cooker5
I bought this quart cooker 6 months ago from amazon and frankly, although the reviews I read on this presto cooker all said that it’s great, I was very skeptical about the $35 price tag and was not expecting much. On top of that, both my mother and my mother-in-law warned me that cheap pressure cookers are dangerous, and I *must* buy something more expensive for safety reasons. I am just very glad that they were both wrong!

This is definitely one of the best purchases I have made on amazon. I still cannot believe they sell this for $35! The 6 quart cooker does not feel cheap at all. It has very sturdy handles, and a thick, heavy bottom, which holds in heat well. I like this pan so much that sometimes I use it instead of my skillet to sautee meat, because of the deeper pot + the cover, less cleaning up for me :-)

I love making soup and stock, but it usually takes up so much of my time when the stock is simmering. With this presto pressure, I can make a meat-fall-off-the-bone soup in an hour!

Some might find this quart pot to be a little on the small side, but this pot works great for my wife and I. Although we have guests over regularly, I find the capacity of the pot to be very good. I would guess that this pot would work well for up to a 4-person family.

    Best appliance in my kitchen!5
This is the best small appliance I have ever had. I have had it 20 years or so. I cook everything in it: pot roasts, pork roasts, stew, pulled pork, beans, etc. I have purchased about 8 of them over the years for wedding gifts, college graduation gifts, Xmas, etc.

There are two main reasons I love this 5 quart cooker so much. One is the versitility of the heat control. I hate crockpots because all you get is low and high! Give me a break, who cooks like that?? These have settings from 1-5, almost as many as a stove burner. I can brown my stew or roast on 5 then turn it down to 3 or halfway between 3 & 4 or 4 depending on how long I want to be away from the house or want it to cook. The base doubles as a griddle by itself. Takes up very little counter and storage space. The quart slow cooker goes into the oven or on the stove if you need or want it to. The pot and lid go into the dishwasher, although I ususally just give a quick wash with hot soapy water and wipe off the base. The other reason I love it is it is small and lightweight. No heavy monster crockpots to handle, try to lift full of food and then try and wash!

I have the older model of this cooker that is 6 quarts. At the time I purchased it you had the choice of 4 or 6 qt size. After 20 years I need to replace it, although it still works perfectly, the teflon pot lining is scratched and the teflon coating on the base(griddle) is flaking. But after 20 years of using it 3-5 times a week, its certainly held up wonderfully. I am now purchasing two more, one for me and one as a wedding gift! My only regret is that they no longer make the 6 quart in this model, only the 5 qt. I would recommend it without question!! Enjoy!

    Best West Bend cooker ever5
Replaces the same one I have had for years. I couldn’t fine this one
locally so I bought a similiar one, It was not near the cooker. Found the West Bend on line and was so pleased. I highly recommend it, the control is very accurate and low temp is lower than most for a long cook while at work and ready when I get home.

    Wondeful Slow Cooker5
I wore out my West Bend cooker of some 20 years ago, bought one for my dad, and sister and two friends.
This item is sturdy, versatile, easy to maintain, and reliable. Better suited to large pieces of meat like whole chickens because of the shape.
The only negative is the short cord length.

    Excellent presto cooker!5
I’ve had 6 qt & 8 qt aluminum cookers since 1980 this one is my 7th pressure cooker, 4 qt presto and its stainless I love it, this is an awesome product with enough safety.
I just got second 4 qt cooker as gift for friend & a young couple for there “house warm party”
I am planning to replace 6 qt aluminum cooker with 6 qt canner cooker in future.
Would certainly recommend this! Thanks Amazon for keeping your prices competitive, and that Free Shipping is GREAT!!!

    Pressure Cooker5
This 4-quart presto pressure cooker heats up and cools down much faster than it’s 8-quart big brother. This presto pressure canner cooker also easier to clean up because it’s not so heavy. The bottom is very flat and it sits well on my glass top stove. The cooking rack is stainless steel too. I like my 25 year old cook book better because it has more recipes. Use a paper towel to wipe a thin layer of cooking oil on the top of the pan where it meets the gasket the first 2 or 3 times you cook with it. That will prolong the gasket life and make it easier to open and close the lid. Pressure cooking is the best fast food you’ll ever eat. I looked at all the new style pressure cookers but the pressure regulators were all too complex which just invites problems. Simple is better. I’ve been cooking with Presto pressure cookers for 42 years. My first one was a hand-me-down from Grandma and I replaced it because it was aluminum. I still use my 40 year old 8-qt cooker when we have a lot to cook.
