    Good pressure cooker. 5
This is nothing fancy, but it works wery well. Replacemenat parts are easy to buy. You can’t open it if it’s under pressure because it has a lock by the handle (safety feature). Actually I think it’s very safe as it has other features as well. I think one of the most important things to look for is what it’s made of (after safety of course!). This is stainless steel which is good because you don’t want aluminum (aluminum will stain and get eaten away with acidic food such as vinegar or lemon juice…).
Another thing to consider is that it takes time to heat up and cool down so even though all pressure cookers say it takes a lot less time to cook, they don’t take the heat-up cool-down time into consideration, even though they are correct about the actual cooking time.

    great value, sturdy cooker5
I bought this quart cooker 6 months ago from amazon and frankly, although the reviews I read on this presto cooker all said that it’s great, I was very skeptical about the $35 price tag and was not expecting much. On top of that, both my mother and my mother-in-law warned me that cheap pressure cookers are dangerous, and I *must* buy something more expensive for safety reasons. I am just very glad that they were both wrong!

This is definitely one of the best purchases I have made on amazon. I still cannot believe they sell this for $35! The 6 quart cooker does not feel cheap at all. It has very sturdy handles, and a thick, heavy bottom, which holds in heat well. I like this pan so much that sometimes I use it instead of my skillet to sautee meat, because of the deeper pot + the cover, less cleaning up for me :-)

I love making soup and stock, but it usually takes up so much of my time when the stock is simmering. With this presto pressure, I can make a meat-fall-off-the-bone soup in an hour!

Some might find this quart pot to be a little on the small side, but this pot works great for my wife and I. Although we have guests over regularly, I find the capacity of the pot to be very good. I would guess that this pot would work well for up to a 4-person family.

Excellent Way to Cook and Keep Food Warm5
I wish I had discovered this Zojirushi 4.77 Quart Steamer a couple of decades ago. As one of the reviewers here noted, it’s not a Slow Cooker: it won’t cook big slabs o’ meat. Instead, it’s a really intelligent way to cook, simmer, and keep liquid-based foods (soups, stews, chilis, cereals, etc.) warm. Instead of cooking food in a pan at the last minute and keeping a careful eye on it while it simmers, with this, you cook the food well ahead of time in the inner pan, make sure everything’s covered with fluids, and put the inner pan into the outer insulated container to simmer. No watching the pot to make sure nothing burns. No need to worry that the gas burner might have gone out. And, no additional energy expenditure. Two things to note, though: the pot is taller than it is wide (so there’s limited space for the initial browning/searing), and because it’s sealed up while simmering, there’s almost no evaporation (on one hand, that’s good — on the other, you have to watch how much water you add or your sauce will be too thin (remember, though, the food must be completely submerged to simmer properly)). Still, I rate this at an Excellent 5 stars out of 5: every kitchen should have one.

    Energy-saving kitchen tool5
I purchased this zojirushi pot as one more way to reduce the fuel I consume for cooking, and I have been very pleased with it. My first impression when it arrived was that it was well designed and made from top quality materials. There are less expensive versions available, but you get what you pay for. I eagerly read through the accompanying recipe booklet but found most of their (few) instructions not very relevant for what I had in mind. It was time to start experimenting, and now, after a couple of months, I am still discovering new ways to use this pot.

I started with rice, and admittedly, my first attempts were not very satisfactory. Their instructions for white rice specify boiling for only 2 minutes on the stove before transferring the pot to the thermal jacket. I have gotten much better results, for both white and brown rice, by boiling for about 1/3 of the usual cooking time, then letting it continue cooking in the thermal jacket for the rest of the time. With some other grains, this pot gets better results than normal stove-top cooking. For example, it works great for kasha (toasted buckwheat) and there you can transfer to the thermal jacket as soon as the kasha is boiling. For polenta, I cooked it on the stove until it started to thicken…and the final result was wonderfully creamy. It has also worked very well for numerous soups. By cutting the quick cooking veggies into larger chunks, the slower cooking ones into thinner slices, everything ends up nicely cooked. As others have also commented, it is an effective way to keep food warm for hours, when needed.

One of our best wedding gifts!,5

My husband and I received this as a wedding present. I had never heard of this zojirushi steamer, but it is one of our favourite gifts. I am not experienced with slow cookers, but I understand one of the disadvantages of slow cookers is that you sometimes have to worry about your food scalding. That is not a concern with the thermal cooker. We typically use it for soups and chili. You do have to actually cook it first (the inner pot can go on the stove) and bring it to a boil. Then just place the pot in the thermal cooker and leave it for HOURS without worry of burning. It’s hot, good and clean up is easy. We love it!

This product is AWESOME!!,5.0 out of 5 stars

This is my first Amazon review, but the product performed well beyond my expectations, I had to let you all know. I just received it this morning and cooked my first stew for dinner tonight. Everything was cooked perfectly. The meat so tender, I cut it with the spoon. The veggies were cooked perfectly including the potatoes (they weren’t overcooked like I get when I do the stew in the crockpot.) I followed the earlier review’s advice and let it boil for about 30 minutes before putting it in the thermal enclosure and let it sit for in there for about 6 hours. Just as a test, we took the stew’s temperature when we opened it and it was 160 F. I especially liked it because I was able to perfectly season everything before I let it sit for the day. Usually with the crockpot, I have to taste and season just before serving. On a hot day, this was also great because it did not add heat to our kitchen like a stove top stew or crockpot stew would have.

    WestBend Slow Cooker5
I love this glass quart slow cooker as much as my two previous oblong slow cooker. This brand of slow cooker lasts may years and is the only one I would ever use. I do wish they still put handles on the pot, but otherwise I am totally satisfied and will buy another one when this one wears out!

I love this west bend slow cooker5
I love this west bend oblong slow cooker because you can get a larger variety of temperature settings. I have another crockpot that cooked a frozen pork roast on low in 4 hours. What is that?? I want to be able to cook on low for 8-10 hours without worrying that my dinner is going to burn up. I had the older version of this brand and I loved it. I could not find this one anywhere until I checked here on Amazon. Yeah- I have my slow cooker life back!!!!!!!!!

    Renewing an old friendship5
I bought this 5 quart cooker about 25 years ago and just about wore it out.(paint wore off, not as pretty but still worked great) Then it got lost in a move.
I started doing OMC cooking last Nov. and was wishing I had this pot still. The new slow cookers are ok but not as versatile. I like being able to make a small change in temp. for certain dishes. Went looking for this pot and no luck in stores. So, looked it up @ Amazon and there it was. I will probably buy a second one soon for my RV.  I like the fact that the temp is adjustable and the pan is not so heavy. Also, the footprint is a lot smaller.

5 ceramic vs. aluminum version of all clad slow cooker,

I have never offered a review here before, but after using 6 quart slow cooker, just felt like i needed to say something. I have had the smart quart pot, the large 7qt, the next smaller, and then a rival crock smaller one…..can’t remember the exact sizes, but my frustration with all of them is that it didn’t matter what setting you put it on, they all “boil”. so i really never felt that i had an option except to cook on low for 4 hours, or cook on “warm” by putting it on low for 20 minutes where it would switch over. cleanup is always a pain, dishwashers just bake the stuff on, and you have to soak it before you can easily wash…….so i was ready to take the risk with this new crockpot after handing over the others to my daughter….they worked, i just didn’t care for the boiling. THEN, I noticed that the all clad stainless comes in two versions…..the first, generally available anywhere is the ceramic insert version ($149)…..NOT to be confused with the aluminum version that costs $249 that can only be ordered through williams-sonoma. i ordered it just prior to thanksgiving from WS, deciding that if i was going to spend 149, may as well spend 249 and see if it really works well…….I am stunned, it’s more than i hoped for. it’s not only beautiful, it’s so easy to cook and clean. you can take the aluminum version and cook right on the stove to brown your roasts, i was worried that the nonstick wouldn’t brown well, but it does fine. it’s light, and i love the two handles on the sides for ease in moving around. cleaning…..wow…..it practically just rinses out, for that alone it’s great…..i’m not sure the ceramic would do the same. as for cooking….that’s the first time i opened the lid to see that it was cooking, and NOT boiling. it has a delayed start, the screen to read from is very bright and easy to read. only drawbacks are that the all clad lid is stainless steel and you cant see through it, but since you aren’t supposed to take the lid off anyhow, it takes away that temptation. you also need to get some tongs or a large spoon that are made for non stick items…….make ahead mashed potatoes slide around inside instead of sticking and scorching, my roast just slid out, and there is no “burnt” residue ring left on anything i’ve cooked so far that usually requires scrubbing……alot of money? yep. but when you figure in cost per use, i will probably double the use because it’s so kitchen and user friendly. i’ve also tried smalle batches of things to see if it cooked any different, it doesn’t, so one slowcooker is all i need. i was also worried that because it heats from the bottom that it would burn, it doesn’t, and the aluminum distributes the heat so evenly, i see no difference in any area of the pot that cooks more or less. being able to go from stove top to crock, saves me one more dirty pan…..if you are considering ditching your old cheap crockpots, save your money and hold out for this all clad steel, you wont be disapointed…..it’s great.

This 5 quart pot cooker slow was purchased to replace an older one that has quit working. This is the about the 4th one purchased over the many years. The 5 quart slow cookers is one of the most convenient cooker recipes. I have ever owned. I just wish it was more readily available in the stores, thank goodness for Amazon. Best slow cookers!!!

Cooker stainless steel it’s large, temperature settings, timer, but short cord?4
I read all the slow cooker crock pot reviews and whining in the reviews of the kitchenaid slow cooker. The bottom line it’s a crock pot. What goes in hopefully comes out just great, but there are some stainless steel slow cooker features to be aware of that may help you make a choice.

    Pro’s:
    - Nice 7 quart pot capacity, and intead of round or oval, you have more of a rectangular basin which makes some select cuts of meats easier to work with.
    - In addition to the traditional High and Low settings, you also have a ‘Simmer’ and ‘Buffet’ mode….nice additions to have if you leave your pot out during parties.
    - Rubber gasket on lid. The glass lid has a black rubber gasket that when properly place on bowl, helps seal in heat and steam vapors.

    no complaints 6 quart 5
All clad slow cooker review this is not an inexpensive all clad pressure cooker but I decided to get it since I have been happy with all of All Clad other cookware. It is the only cooker slow I could find that has a metal rather than a silicone rim to the lid, it is huge so you can cook a small or very large meal, and the insert is a ceramic dish with a lead-free glaze (I checked with the company). It is easy to use, and works perfectly well. With my first meal, I checked the internal temp of the roast, and it had reached and kept the suggested safe temp. The only draw back is one that seems to be a problem with all slow cookers or quart pot; the external skirt is not insulated so much heat is radiated outwards instead of inwards. This seems counter-intuitive to me. However, it doesn’t affect the performance, it just wastes power. This is a good stainless clad buy but this is my first slow cooker chicken so I cannot compare to any other highly rated one.
