    This is not nothing you need years of practice unless your trying to make a special rice like the one used for sushi or other exotic styles.

    1. Take a Cooker Slow an begin to fill the Cooker Slow with the amount of rice you would want but with water.

    2. Wash it in another rice cooker and the amount you should use of rice is a little less than the amount of water in the first crock pot slow cooker with the boiling water.

    2. Add a teaspoon of oil and a half teaspoon of salt and heat on high until water begins to boil. You can also get creative and add spices, meats and vegetables like curry,corn,sausage,chicken,cilantro,parsley and other things you can think of.

    3. Wash the rice before adding it to the rice cooker. This is at your discretion since supposedly if you do wash the rice you’ll be eliminating some of the added vitamins and minerals.

    4. After having added the rice, remove any excess water until you have a least an inch or two of water above the rice line.

    5. Put the lid on top and on high heat and wait for the water to evaporate until you see no water on top of the rice and the rice looks just a little dry and begins to smell like rice. Careful not to overcook.

    6. Turn off the stove top and with a large spoon, mix and blend all the ingredients all together.The rice now should be a lot softer.

    7. Put back the lid and wait a few minutes. Don’t open the lid until at least five minutes have passed and then open the lid, the rice should be very soft and ready to eat.

    • Let me preface this review with the fact that I am Italian and raised 5 children on daily home-cooked meals. The kitchen is the center of my home.
    • So when my daughter got her own apartment out west and asked for a set of pots for Christmas, I wanted to make sure I got her a quality set that would last her for years and years. I knew what I wanted for her, but didn’t know which brand to purchase. Non-stick was out (I have never liked it).
    • The pots also had to be both dishwasher/oven safe, and I wanted the pot handles to be riveted into the pot. Off I went to the mall with my “specifications” in hand to look at the different brands and sets available. Boy was I amazed at how many there were! I took my time and examined each set.
    • Not only did I look at the sets, but I also handled the sets. This is VERY important. Many of the quality sets were so heavy that I needed two hands to lift the larger pieces, and although I could lift the smaller saucepans, I had difficulty tilting them to the side to pour.
    • Others had handles that were very uncomfortable to use. Then I came upon the Cuisinart Chef’s Classic Stainless 10-piece cookware set. I was very impressed by the quality.
    • They were heavy grade yet easy to handle. They also met my other specifications listed above AND they looked really nice as well. The price of $149 was quite unbelievable.
    • I drove home and ran straight to my computer and ordered the set through Amazon. I got free shipping and had the set delivered directly to my daughter. I also used the holiday bonus coupon for $25 off my order.
    • I was so impressed with the set and the deal Amazon was offering, a few days later I purchased a second set through Amazon for myself. I LOVE them.
    • They cook beautifully on my gas range and clean up well in the dishwasher. The handles DO NOT get hot while cooking, which totally surprised me. Do be careful with the lid handles though.
    • They will get hot if cooking on higher heat. I haven’t had a problem with delicate foods burning due to the high thermoconductivity of the pans;
    • however, my stove is a professional grade 6-burner unit. I don’t know if that makes any difference or not. All I can say is this set looks great, cooks great, handles great, and sells at a great price. What more can you ask for?

    I use my magic bullet almost every morning for smoothies. I’ve only used it a couple of other times for something other than a smoothie. I didn’t have a blender before and this is a perfect substitute. The only thing I don’t like about it is sometimes stuff gets trapped in the base and there’s a cover that says not to remove it so I worry that the liquid may one day ruin the motor. But if it does I will happily buy another one. I recommend this to anyone.

    We’ve had our magic bullet more than 4 years. I originally bought it for my son while he was in high school for his protein shakes. In the meantime, we’ve used it for our own smoothies, making hummus, grinding our own spices, the list goes on and on. Since my son went to college, we bought him a new one to take, since we weren’t about to part with this one. His is working well while in college, too. I don’t know what you people are mixing in yours to make the motors burn out, but, ours is working great and wouldn’t give it up for anything.

    1. 1 (28 ounce) can whole peeled tomatoes with juice
    2. 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained
    3. 2 zucchini, thinly sliced
    4. 1 onion, chopped
    5. 2 carrots, sliced
    6. 2 stalks celery, sliced
    7. 1 red bell pepper, chopped
    8. 1/3 cup chili powder
    9. 1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chile peppers
    10. 2 cloves garlic, minced
    11. 1 tablespoon dried oregano
    12. 2 teaspoons ground cumin
    13. 1 teaspoon salt

    Directions In a slow cookers, combine the tomatoes, chickpeas, zucchini, onion, carrots, celery, red bell pepper, green bell pepper, chili powder, green chile peppers, garlic, oregano, cumin and salt. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 8 hours OR on high for 3 to 4 hours.
