How to Zojirushi Rice Cooker Make Chicken Rice

Gather your ingredients listed above. Rinse the three pounds of chicken off and pat dry.Set your zojirushi rice cooker to low heat for six to eight hours if you have a timer on it.

Pour the rice, soup, and water in the zojirushi rice cooker and mix well.Place the chicken into a roasting bag with the dry onion soup mix. Shake the bag so that the mixture coats all of the chicken.

Poke four to six holes into the bottom of the bag. Fold the top of the bag over and set the bag on top of the rice mixture in the zojirushi rice cooker. Allow the chicken to become tender and the rice to cook until it is done. The rice will become mushy if it is overcooked.

What a Truly Excellent zojirushi rice cooker !

Really thought long and hard before spending the money for this zojirushi rice cooker , but we are SO-O-O glad we did! We’ve had it for a few weeks, used it usually twice a day, trying almost every function and several types of rice and steel-cut oats.

Perfect results every time! The only negatives we can think of are, the directions that came with it are less than clear (wish they had included more recipes, too) and we’re not too keen on the idea of the soldered in battery going dead long before the unit does.

However, we would buy this zojirushi rice cooker exact same model again without question! This is so easy to use , produces perfect results (even if you’re not quite sure what you’re doing) and couldn’t be easier to clean. Every part and feature is so exceptionally well designed, with the exception of the above mentioned battery dilemma.

Don’t hesitate, we waited too long! Worth every penny! Will update in the future, if needed. UPDATE: Several months later, no problems, use this almost daily and STILL love this zojirushi rice cooker .

For those who can’t figure it out–Pushing the reset button turns this zojirushi rice cooker off. Took us a little while to figure this out, as directions in book are somewhat unclear. Hope this helps!

I love this zojirushi rice cooker . I have used it to make small and large batches of rice. Every batch comes out perfect; every single grain is cooked perfectly.

When the rice is done the  zojirushi 10 cup rice cooker goes into warming mode, which keeps your rice perfect and ready to serve for up to 12 hours. It has settings for white rice, brown rice, sushi rice, and others.

Don’t waste your money on cheep cookers or microwave cookers, those don’t come close to the quality of the  zojirushi 10 cup rice cooker . I could continue to say how great the rice is when cooked in this zojirushi rice cooker but really you won’t know until you try it.

It’s worth every penny. My only warning about this zojirushi rice cooker is that it is cute. It looks cute and makes cute chime melodies when it starts cooking and when it is done I also recommend you protect your  zojirushi 10 cup rice cooker with a serge protector.

Best thing next to the fuzzy-logic units,

Plump, tender and moist grains of rice, with the option of colorful steamed veggies, can be yours with this pressure cooker. I love my rice cookers. I use them not only to make rice, but for all sorts of one-pot meals. Put in a cup of rice, vegetables, meats or seafood, seasonings, tofu… and a half hour later you have a steaming hot one-pot meal. They’re also good for pilafs and other grain dishes.

The zojirushi rice cooker and Panasonic units are all first rate, BUT you need to know a little something about cooking rice beyond what’s in the poorly worded manuals.

Different rice takes different amounts of water. The long-grained rice Americans are used to should be cooked with 1-3/4 cup of water for each cup of rice. Japanese rice needs only 1-1/4 cup of water for each cup of rice, or 1 cup of water for each cup of washed, wet, rice.

Many Americans (and Europeans) have problems with these steamer food because the measure ments are calibrated for Japanese short grain rice, and the Westerners are cooking long grain rice. Get the ratios correct, and everything works out fine.

I’ve had a number of rice cookers of different sizes. My panasonic rice cooker has lasted over 20 years, and my Zojirushi looks like it’ll last just as long, while my South Bend gave up the ghost after only a year. Go with the top Japanese models; they’re made for day-in and day out cooking.
